Valve
The flow restriction valve optimises the inhalation flow. This enables the child to inhale slowly and comfortably. This in turn ensures that particle deposition in the lungs is better and more regular.
Ring
The yellow ring on the balloon is a visual feedback and motives the child to inhale in an optimal way and also helps the parents to identify a successful inhalation.
Balloon
The transparent housing and the silicon pleated balloon are designed to appeal to children, ensuring better patient acceptance. This design reduces interference from static electricity, often a problem with this type of application. The balloon contains a standardised inhalation volume. A pump delivers the medication particles into the lung in one inhalation.
Mouthpiece
Conventional asthma sprays and metered dose inhalers (MDI's) are fixed to the mouth piece, which has two size options (the smaller and the larger) to ensure a good fit. The size of the mouth piece has been designed with children in mind.
